Industry Standards Leadership

LSI's rich heritage in technology leadership dates all the way back to the original co-authoring of the SCSI standard and the invention of the transistor. Innovation is part of our DNA. Today, our leadership position continues with critical roles in industry standards organizations that are impacting the future of storage and networking technologies.

SCSI Trade Association
Sponsor member
STA President: Harry Mason, Director, Industry Marketing, LSI Corporation

The SCSI Trade Association was established in 1995 to provide a focal point for members to communicate the benefits of SCSI to the industry. STA promotes the understanding and use of Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) technology and influences the evolution of SAS standards to meet future industry needs. The Association has a nine-member Board of Directors, which oversees the Marketing Communications and Technology Committees and all STA activities.

PCI-SIG
PCI-SIG Vice President: Richard Solomon, LSI Corporation

Formed in 1992, the PCI-SIG is the industry organization chartered to develop and manage the PCI standard. With over 900 members, the PCI-SIG effectively places ownership and management of the PCI specifications in the hands of the developer community. A Board of Directors comprised of nine people, each elected by the membership, leads the PCI-SIG.

Trusted Computing Group
Storage Work Group member: Walt Hubis, LSI Corporation

The Trusted Computing Group (TCG) is a not-for-profit organization formed to develop, define, and promote open standards for hardware-enabled trusted computing and security technologies, including hardware building blocks and software interfaces, across multiple platforms, peripherals, and devices. TCG specifications will enable more secure computing environments without compromising functional integrity, privacy, or individual rights. The primary goal is to help users protect their information assets (data, passwords, keys, etc.) from compromise due to external software attack and physical theft.

Storage Networking Industry Association
Board of Directors: Julie Ryan, Director, Alliances, LSI Corporation

Incorporated in December 1997, the SNIA is a registered 501(c)6 non-profit trade association. Our members are dedicated to developing and promoting standards, technologies, and educational services to empower organizations in the management of information. The SNIA works toward this goal by forming and sponsoring Technical Work Groups (TWGs), producing (with our strategic partner Computerworld) the Storage Networking World Conference series, building and maintaining a vendor neutral Technology Center in Colorado Springs, and promoting activities that expand the breadth and quality of the storage and information management market. The SNIA's ability to accomplish these goals is directly attributed to the dedication and hard work of hundreds of volunteers from our member companies. Headquartered in San Francisco, California, the SNIA also has offices in its Colorado Springs-based Technology Center. With seven regional affiliates spanning the globe, SNIA is truly the voice of the storage industry on a worldwide scale.
